PULL UP FOR CHANGE MOVEMENT: While Abercrombie did not participate in the Pull Up for Change initiative, I was able to find diversity data from 2017. However, it’s still a bit vague and unclear how diverse the company is at the VP level. “We are proud that more than 60% of our entire organization is female, including more than 40% of our VPs and above, including our two Brand Presidents, our COO and our CEO. Additionally, nearly 60% of our U.S. population self-identify as persons of color.”  While Abercrombie has now prioritized diversity and inclusion, historically they did not.

Abercrombie has quickly become one of my favorite places to shop for petite clothing! I love that they offer more on trend styles than you typically see in the petite section! Also their spring collection has a great color palette and offers a nice selection of prints! Just a note Abercrombie only carries petite sizing in dresses, skirts, and jeans. So the top I tried out is only available in regular sizing!

Abercrombie Faux Silk Slip Midi Dress – Size Petite Small

What I loved…

• Fit – Wow — this dress fit me like a glove!

What could have been better…

• A little formal – This dress did give me bridesmaid vibes a little bit! Perhaps if I had gotten a print instead it would have been more casual.

• Runs slightly small – If you’re in between sizes, I’d recommend trying one size up for comparison.

Verdict: Buy!

Abercrombie Long-Sleeve Button-Through Mini Dress – Size Petite Small

What I loved…

• Silhouette – I love the A-line style of this dress! It’s very versatile and perfect for spring!

What could have been better…

• Side zipper – The side zipper was very bulky and kept digging into my armpit when I moved my arms. It wasn’t painful, but definitely noticeable and annoying so for me it was a dealbreaker.

Bust = 35.5”

Waist = 28”

Hip = 37.75”

Bottom opening = 46.5”

Center back = 30.25”

Verdict: Don’t buy, shop around! 

Abercrombie Smocked Waist Mini Dress – Size Petite Small

What I loved…

• Fit – Overall, this dress fit me quite well! The only thing I noticed was that the bust area was slightly big, but it wasn’t obvious due to the floral print. 

• Comfortable – Since this dress is smocked there’s a lot of elastic, which makes it super comfy in my opinion! 

What could have been better…

• No side zipper – This was a dress that you had to put on over your head, which was kind of a pain! It felt like a recipe for getting deodorant all over the dress. Not a deal breaker, but something to note!

Waist = 21.25” (elastic)

Verdict: Buy!

Abercrombie Cinched Front Puff Sleeve Top – Size Small

What I loved…

• Silhouette – You guys are probably sensing a theme here — I love romantic blouses like this! 

• Ideal length – Even though this top isn’t a petite size, the length worked well for me.

What could have been better…

• Slightly big in back – The fit of this top was kind of funky! The front of the blouse fit me perfectly, but the back was slightly big. The smocked detail didn’t lay completely flat. Since the style is so cute, I’d be willing to overlook it.

Verdict: Buy!

Abercrombie Curve Love High Rise Mom Jeans – Size 28 Short

What I loved…

• Minimal waist gap – Compared to the Abercrombie Curve Love Ultra High Rise Straight Leg jeans these fit me much better! While the jeans were slightly big in the waist, the jeans didn’t gap due to the waistband being stretchy.  

• Length – This time I opted to buy the short length jeans (rather than regular) and they were the ideal for me!

What could have been better…

• Slightly big in certain areas – If you look at the back image of the jeans, you can see they look a little baggy in the thigh area. I will point out that my weight is lower (my current measurements above) than normal so these jeans were a bit in the hip area as well. If I had been back at my usual measurements of 28’’ waist and 40’’ hip, then I likely wouldn’t have had this fit issue.

Verdict: Buy! (I’m going to wait until they restock new colors because it was a bit limited when I ordered).
